The Hargreeves siblings are back in action!

Netflix’s superhero series The Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a 3rd season, following the success of season 2, which premiered in July 2020.

On Wednesday, November 11, the show’s official social media accounts announced that production would begin in February 2021. No release date or official cast has been confirmed yet.

Actor Justin H. Min, who plays Ben Hargreeves, also took to Twitter to post a throwback video in honor of the show’s renewal for a 3rd season.

In the video, filmed in November 2019, Min officially retired the black hoodie and leather jacket combination his character had worn for seasons one and two.

“The old Ben is dead, and the new Ben is here,” he said.

The Umbrella Academy is based on the Dark Horse comic book series by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. The story revolves around 7 children each born with superpowers. They are adopted by an eccentric billionaire, who trains them to save the world.

The Umbrella Academy’s first season made Netflix debut on February 15, 2019. –with reports from Wyanet Alcibar/Rappler.com
