MANILA, Philippines – A Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik reunion may just be in the cards! The South Korean stars are currently in talks to star in a new Korean medical drama called Doctor Slump.
According to a Soompi report, the two actors are “positively reviewing” the offer to star in the upcoming drama, which will follow the lives of two doctors “who are in a slump as they try to resuscitate their lives.”
The story focuses on the relationship of the two doctors, who stay in a rooftop house as neighbors, after they both quit their jobs. The medical rom-com will focus on the budding romance and character growth of both doctors.
If the roles are accepted, Park Shin-hye will play Nam Ha-neul while Park Hyung-sik will play Yeo Jung-woo. This will be the first time the stars will work together again since the 2013 drama, Heirs.
For Park Shin-hye, this will be her first role in a medical drama since her award-winning performance in the hit 2016 show, Doctors. This will also be her first project since becoming a mom earlier this year.
The show will begin filming next year after casting has been finalized. Details regarding the rest of the show’s cast and its broadcast details have yet to be announced.
Park Shin-hye married Choi Tae Joon at the start of the year, and became a mother four months later in May. She previously starred in K-dramas such as Pinocchio, Doctors, and Sisyphus: The Myth. She has also starred in movies such as #Alive and The Call.
Shin-hye’s performances have earned her a variety of awards over the years, including SBS Drama Awards’ Top Excellence Award for her role in Pinocchio and Asia Artist Awards’ Best Artist Award, Actress for her role in Doctors.
