'Cowboy Bebop' is set to premiere on November 19

Netflix on Monday, August 23, released the first images from Cowboy Bebop, the highly-anticipated live-action series adaptation of the 1988 anime.

The photos featured lead stars John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, and Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black in their full character costumes. Even Ein, the corgi, was also present in some of the pictures.

Netflix also revealed the original director, Shinichiro Watanabe, was consulted for the live-action series and Yoko Kanno, the anime’s original composer, also scored the music for the adaptation.

Based on the anime of the same name, Cowboy Bebop follows a team of bounty hunters led by Spike Spigel traveling in their spaceship called Bebop in the year 2071. The crew hunts down criminals throughout their solar system while they confront their dark pasts.

The 1988 anime has inspired two manga series and an anime film released in 2001.

Netflix picked up the Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation in 2018. Production started in 2019 but was paused after Cho sustained a knee injury on the set. It was also delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
