Recap: 'Idol Philippines' grand finals

MANILA, Philippines — The first season of Idol Philippines ended on Sunday, July 28 with Zephanie Dimaranan as the first winner of the competition. (READ: Who is Zephanie Dimaranan, the new 'Idol Philippines' winner?)

Before crowning Zephanie as the winner, the grand finale at Resorts World Manila began on Saturday, July 27 – the Top 5 was narrowed down to the 3 who moved on to the last round.

After a combined votes from the judges and viewers, Lance, Lucas, and Zephanie moved on to the last round with Dan and Miguel being eliminated.

Day 2

On Day 2, July 28,  Lance, Lucas, and Zephanie performed two songs. The first song was their "journey" song (which describes their Idol Philippines journey), while the last song was a piece composed for them by some of the country's top songwriters.

The winner of the competition also won a trip to Taiwan, a recording contract with Star Music, a new house and lot, and a cash prize of P2 million.
