ABS-CBN first announced that they’re making a Philippine adaptation of the hit show last April 2021. “True to our commitment to serve the Filipino, we are excited to create our own retelling of this beautiful story, to see the characters come alive with unique Filipino elements that will definitely excite our audiences,” said chief of broadcast Cory Vidanes.

Originally a BBC Studios production, Doctor Foster tells the story of Gemma Foster, a doctor whose life takes a drastic turn when she suspects her husband of having an affair. It ran in the United Kingdom from 2015 to 2017.

It has since been adapted for various audiences around the world. The South Korean adaptation, The World of the Married, became a hit among Philippine audiences, and was broadcast by ABS-CBN in June 2020.
