JC to work with 'crush' Maja
MANILA, Philippines - After recently signing up with ABS-CBN, former Kapuso (GMA) and Kapatid (TV5) actor JC de Vera will soon start work on his first drama series with the Kapamilya network titled, "Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin?"
JC will be paired with his long-time crush Maja Salvador.
"It’s a dream come true for me. Ever since I first saw Maja on television, naging crush ko na siya [she became my crush]."
"Now I just can’t believe that I will star in a drama series with her as my leading lady. Parang meant to be na magkasama kami balang araw [It seems that it's meant to be that we'll be together one day]."
JC will also have as co-stars Jericho Rosales, Angel Locsin, Christopher de Leon, Mark Gil, Rio Locsin, Bernard Palanca, and Maria Isabel Lopez.
But the actor does not expect to be romantically linked to his leading lady, because Maja is in a relationship (much discussed at that, let's just say) with Gerald Anderson.
"Mahirap palang ma-link kay Maja kasi nabakuran na [because she's taken]," he laughs.
"Okey lang naman kasi [It's okay because] I’m just happy working with her and in my new home station.
"I want to prove to them that I’m worth all the trouble. Ayokong mapahiya sa kanila kaya magtrabaho tayo ng mabuti." (I don't wish to become a liability that's why we should do our job.)
"Huwag mag-alala si Gerald dahil alam kong off limits si Maja." (Gerald shouldn't worry because I know Maja is off limits.)
"I will just be working with her professionally."
JC de Vera was a talent of controversial actress/manager Annabelle Rama for more than 8 years.
He started his showbiz career with GMA-7 as part of the teen drama series, "Joyride."
He was being groomed as the next leading man until relations soured between Annabelle and former GMA executive Wilma Galvante.
JC next transferred to TV5, which made him an exclusive talent for 3 years. After his contract expired, he moved to ABS-CBN.
JC said he hasn’t talked with his former manager since they parted ways a few months ago.
"I want to talk with Tita Annabelle pero naging very busy siya ulit [but she became busy again].
"I tried calling her but she [wouldn’t] pick up.
"I know that she is going through another crisis and I just want to let her know that I am here for her.
"Sana lang ay wala na siyang tampo sa akin. (I just wish she no longer has any resentment toward me.)
"I know that she only wishes nothing but happiness for me and my career." - Rappler.com
