‘Derek-Cristine’ prompts questions about ‘non-showbiz’ girlfriend

MANILA, Philippines – After Derek Ramsay went public about his new relationship with Cristine Reyes, many are now asking what happened to his “non-showbiz” girlfriend, Alexa Amos?

Alexa became Derek’s girlfriend soon after his breakup with Angelica Panganiban.

She’s also a Frisbee player like Derek and has accompanied him to many of his showbiz events, such as the launching of his show, “Kidlat,” on TV5.

There was also talk that Derek was already having a house built in Santa Rosa, Laguna, where he and Alexa were planning to settle down, or so went the speculation.

But everything took a different turn when Derek disclosed his relationship with Cristine Reyes (who played his wife in the film, “No Other Woman”).

Her sentiments

This led some among the showbiz media to look for Alexa in the hope of interviewing her. They wanted to get her side, following the “Derek-Cristine.”

But Alexa refuses to face the cameras and has declined offers to appear in talk shows.

Many still want to hear her side. And Alexa herself couldn’t resist pouring out her sentiments on social media.

“I’m not interested in taking public potshots, it’s not my concern anymore. What happened to him after the separation – it’s his life now.

“I’ve made a conscious effort not to add to the toxicity of this situation. I don’t want to be a part of it. I don’t have a halo that I’m polishing here, everyone has their personal thoughts. But I would much rather everyone move on.

“I am not defined by this relationship. It’s maddening to me. If people are frustrated that I don’t want to do that, I’m sorry… There’s a lot I don’t understand, a lot I don’t know, and probably never will know, really. So I choose to take away with me as much integrity and dignity and respect for what that relationship was as I can…”

For now, Derek’s reps refuse to comment on Alexa’s social-media statements. – Rappler.com
