Young love, sweet love behind suspense serye

 

MANILA, Philippines – Among the 5 young stars (Lauren Young, Enzo Pineda, Joyce Ching, Ruru Madrid, Wyn Marquez) of the upcoming teen suspense thriller-serye “Dormitoryo” on GMA-7, only one of them has what you can call a love life, and the rest just say they are friends with whoever they are being linked to.

It’s only Joyce who is open about her relationship with young actor Kristoffer Martin. They have been together for over a year now.

Together outside work

“Okey kami ni Kristoffer,” said Joyce. (Kristoffer and I are okay.)

“Kahit na magkaiba ang projects namin [Even if we have different projects] and he’s being paired with another actress, no problem sa akin [for me].

“We’re in this business where we meet and work with so many people. Mabuti na rin ‘yung hindi kami nagkakasama sa work.” (It’s just as well that we’re not together at work.)

“Baka mas magkaroon pa kami ng away [We might end up having differences] if we work together pa.

“Mas okey na [It’s better that] after our work, nagkikita kami [we see each other] and we go out. He tells me what happens sa taping niya [in his taping] and vice-versa.

“I can say that we have a very healthy relationship,” smiles Joyce.

Together with family

Lauren Young has been linked to Elmo Magalona, but the young actress denies going steady with him.

“Kami ni Elmo, friends lang talaga kami.” (Elmo and I are just friends.)

People mistake us for being in a relationship because close ako sa family niya [I’m close to his family].

“Yes, we do go out pero kasama ang buong family niya [but together with his entire family]. Close kasi ako [I’m close] to her sisters, Maxene and Saab.”

Just friends

Enzo Pineda is once again being linked to his ex-girlfriend Louise delos Reyes. They have been going out together, according to Louise’ Instagram posts.

But the young actor dismisses the rumor that he’s reconciling with his ex.

“Louise and I are just good friends now,” Enzo said.

“When we broke up, hindi masyadong naging maganda. Hindi kami nagpansinan noon.”

(It didn’t turn out well when we broke up. We’d ignore each other for a while.)

“But now, we’re okay, and wala namang masama kung lalabas kami.” (There’s nothing wrong about my going out with her.)

“It’s always together with our families and our friends. Never kaming lumabas na kaming dalawa lang.” (We’re never alone.) 

On-screen, off-screen

Ruru Madrid had broken up with his “non-showbiz” girlfriend even before he joined the reality-artista search “Protege” on GMA-7. Now he is said to be trying his luck with Barbie Forteza.

“I want to be friends with Barbie first. Nagkasama na kami before sa [I worked with her in the] series na ‘Paroa… Ang Kuwento ni Mariposa.’

“Ako ‘yung ka-love triangle nila ni Derrick Monasterio.” (Our characters are caught in a love triangle.)

“I heard that Derrick is also making a move on Barbie. Okey lang [It’s fine]. It’s a competition. May the best man win.”

And Wyn Marquez has also broken up with her non-showbiz boyfriend. Their relationship lasted 3 years.

“We [needed some] space from one another,” she said.

“Hindi niya masakyan ang mga ginagawa ko ngayon.” (He’s not into the things I do.)

“I can’t blame him. He comes from a private family.

“Ako naman parehong showbiz personalities ang parents ko. (Both my parents are showbiz personalities.)

“Hindi lang kami nagkasundo na.” (We didn’t get along anymore.)

“Suitors? Marami.” (Plenty.)

“Pero [But] I want to just be friends with them. I’m concentrating on my career now.

“Like next year, I will be training for a national beauty pageant. It’s been my long dream to be a beauty queen.

“Kaya wala munang boyfriend. Career muna tayo ngayon.” (So no boyfriend for the time being. Career first.)

Anyway, “Dormitoryo” starts airing on September 22 on GMA-7.

The serye, directed by acclaimed writer-director Jun Lana, also stars Mayton Eugenio, Annicka Dolonius, Ashley Nordstrom, and Mel Kimura. – Rappler.com
