All is well for Christine Reyes

 

MANILA, Philippines – She may be happy with her (very public) love life with Derek Ramsay, but Cristine Reyes is not about to abandon her career.

Ara Mina’s younger sister is busy doing 4 movies under her mother studio, Viva Films.

Cristine is in the title role of “My Trophy Wife” where she co-stars with John Estrada and Heart Evangelista.

The film also marks the continuing comeback of director Elwood Perez, who has been enjoying the belated critical appreciation of cineastes after the provocative output of his early years.

The 24-year-old actress is also doing “Where Love Has Gone?,” a new film by director Andoy Ranay based on the now-classic Danny Zialcita drama “Nagalit Ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi.” Cristine plays the second-wife role originally played by Laurice Guillen and she co-stars with Jake Cuenca, Gabby Concepcion, Alice Dixson, and Andi Eigenmann.

Wonder how Cristine will deliver Direk Laurice’s immortal line: “Puwede bang makausap ang asawa ko na asawa mo na asawa ng buong bayan?” (Can I speak with your husband who’s my husband who’s everybody’s husband?)

She is also in the Metro Manila Film Festival comedy entry “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy,” directed by box-office filmmaker Wenn Deramas and also starring Vice Ganda, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Maricel Soriano.

And her 4th project is titled “The Gifted,” with Anne Curtis and Sam Milby, under the direction of Chris Martinez.

Apart from her busy filmmaking schedule, Cristine is also taping for the ABS-CBN serye, “Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin.”

Waking up, being organized

Does she still have time for her boyfriend?

“Oo naman [Yes, of course]. There will always be time for that,” Cristine said.

“Derek knows how busy I am, kaya hindi niya ako kinukulit na lumabas [he doesn’t prod me very much about going out]. 

“Kapag ako na ang nagsabing libre ako, doon lang kami magde-date [When I tell him I’m free, that’s when we go out on a date], or I will go to his place and vice-versa.”

“Natuto na akong ayusin ang schedule ko [I’ve learned to time-manage my schedule]. 

“Before, kalat-kalat ang pag-iisip ko [I used to be disorganized]. Hindi ko na alam ang gagawin kong trabaho [I wouldn’t know what work to do] the next day.

“Ngayon organized na [Now I’m more organized]. May nagre-remind na sa akin ng gagawin ko araw-araw [Someone reminds me what’s up ahead every day].”

Is Derek the one reminding her every day?

“Isa siya sa mga nagre-remind sa akin [He’s one of them].

“He knows na hirap akong magising sa umaga [that I have difficulty getting up early]. Kaya may wakeup call siya for me [He gives me a call]. Natuto na akong magising ng maaga [I’ve learned to be an early riser].”

Derek recently tweeted their schedule for the coming holidays, including a trip to Brazil.

“Masyado siyang organized na tao [He’s very organized]. And we both love traveling.

“Siya na ‘yung pinaaasikaso ko ng mga trips namin [I leave the arrangements to him]. He wants to surprise me raw kaya pinabayaan ko na siya. Sorpresahin na lang niya ako.” (He said he wants to surprise me so I’ll let him.) – Rappler.com
