MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) –  TV director and Taguig congressman Lino Cayetano is tying the knot very soon.

Cayetano is all set to wed 23 year-old Ateneo volleyball player Fille Cainglet, as reported by showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz on his blog.

The 36-year-old Cayetano has formally introduced Cainglet as his fiancee to some colleagues from the House of Representatives, but remains tight-lipped on the details of the wedding.

Cainglet, however, has posted what seems to be a sketch for a wedding dress.

Cayetano has been linked to several celebrities and models, including host Bianca Gonzalez, actress KC Concepcion, and celebrity stylist Liz Uy.

Meanwhile, Cainglet was a star player from St. Scholastica’s College Manila before joining the Ateneo Lady Spikers. She is currently working with Meralco’s marketing department, but has expressed her desire to file a leave to help Cayetano manage Luna, his coffee shop business in Bonifacio Global City.

Cayetano’s elder brother, Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, confirmed the news in an interview at the Senate. 

“For more than a month, he’s (Lino) really been talking about settling down, being in love and for the last couple of weeks, he said that he’s very, very serious and they just wanna do it, settling down and deciding to stay together as husband and wife. When they’ll actually do it and how they’ll actually do it, I’ll leave it up to them,” Senator Cayetano said.

The senator said he is not worried that his brother is getting married just 3 months into a relationship. He compared it with his relationship with his wife, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano. 

“I was also with my wife just for a very short time, halos 3 months din, in 3 months, 10 years na kami. Lino always says to me when I ask him, ‘Are you sure?’ Ang sagot niya, ‘Were you sure?’ And I was sure so so far, so good.” (My wife and I were together for almost 3 months too yet we’ve been married for 10 years. He asked “Were you sure?” And I was sure so so far, so good.)

The senator said the Cayetano family will likely spend the holidays together with the couple in Cebu. 

“It’s part of our family vacation. He hasn’t told us completely what the plan is that’s why we’re also having a hard time planning but he told me to reserve this Christmas, New Year. That’s why we’re working until the 23rd. I’ll be in Cebu until [December] 23 for some work and we’re working again on January 2. But 24th until that time, we agreed to be near each other, the family, and see what happens.”

Senator Pia Cayetano also confirmed Rappler’s report via Twitter, referring to Cainglet as “the ninja.”
