The hit PETA musical will be available to stream for two weekends starting July 31

The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) announced on Friday, April 23, that hit musical Rak of Aegis will be streaming online for two weekends via pay-per-view on Ticket2Me.net.

The show will stream from July 31 to August 1, and from August 7 to 8. The initiative is the banner project of PETA’s #TakePETAbeyondCOVID fundraising campaign.

Rak of Aegis features the popular songs of ’90s band Aegis while telling the story of Aileen, a young girl who dreams of becoming a YouTube sensation. She lives in fictional Barangay Venizia, which is submerged in flood water.

The musical debuted in January 2014 and ran for seven seasons. Its recent run closed in September 2019.

The Filipino musical is written by Liza Magtoto and directed by Maribel Legarda, the artistic director of PETA, with musical direction, arrangement, and vocal direction by Myke Solomon.

The original cast members include Aicelle Santos, Jerald Napoles, Pepe Herrera, Isay Alvarez Seña, Robert Seña, Kakai Bautista, Myke Salomon, Poppert Bernadas, and Ron Alfonso.

Information about ticket prices are yet to be announced. For updates, follow PETA on Facebook. – with reports from Jewel Camacho/Rappler.com
