The theater industry may have had another tough year in the pandemic, but Repertory Philippines (REP) is finding a new way to bring theater to audiences.

The theater group, via its REP Theater for Young Audiences (RTYA), is staging a production of The Great Christmas Cookie Bake-Off!, which will screen internationally from November 12 to December 12 via performing arts streaming platform Broadway On Demand.

The Great Christmas Cookie Bake-off! plays out like a reality baking competition, where eight young cookie chefs from all over the country battle it out at the Cookie Coliseum in front of three celebrity judges.

The musical is directed by RTYA Creative Director Joy Virata with a cast that includes Becca Coates, Tim Pavino, Jep Go, Jillian Itaas, Luigi Quesada, Rachel Coates, Justine Narciso, Steven Hotchkiss, Carla Guevara Laforteza, Jamie Wilson, Arnel Carrion, and Hans Eckstein.

The creative team is made up of set designer Ed Lacson, lighting designer John Batalla, costume designer Bonsai Cielo, and choreographer Deana Aquino.

Video production was led by Respeto director Treb Monteras, and managed by Silver Media.

Ticket prices for The Great Christmas Cookie Bake-Off! are P700 (Regular) and P1,000 (Family/Household). Each ticket gives viewers 24-hour access to the musical via computer or mobile device through a web browser, or through the Broadway On Demand app on App Store and Google Play. Broadway On Demand is also available on AppleTV and Roku.
