‘Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids’ season 2: The first performances

MANILA, Philippines – The second season of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids kicked off on Saturday, May, 5 with 4 of 8 contenders doing their best impersonations of popular artists. (READ: Meet the contestants of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ season 2)

Here are their performances:

TNT Boys as the Bee Gees

The TNT Boys Keifer Sanchez, Mackie Empuerto, and Francis Concepcion definitely nailed the Bee Gees look (and had the judges doubled over in laughter when they walked out on stage), but it was when they launched into “Too Much Heaven” that the audience – and jury – was really impressed.

Gary Valenciano said the boys did “an excellent job,” and said their performance was “a perfect way” to start the show’s new season.

“I’m sure napakaraming lumigaya ngayong gabi na nanonood sa atin (I’m sure a lot of viewers are happy tonight). Sana si Barry Gibb, I hope he’s watching so he can see how talented this generation of Filipinos is,” Sharon Cuneta added.

Chun-sa Jung as Meghan Trainor

Chun-sa channeled Meghan Trainor’s onstage sass and sweetness when she sang “All About That Bass,” and the judges praised the young performer’s onstage presence.

“Talagang mayroon kang charisma… Ito ‘yung klase ng performance na tingin ko magte-trend (You really have charisma… this is the kind of performance that I think will trend),” Ogie Alcasid said.

Onyok Pineda as Bamboo

Onyok impersonated Bamboo yet again for his performance of “Hallelujah” that had his fellow contestants bouncing around on the sidelines.

Ogie gave Onyok some constructive criticism, while still praising his performance: “Ako lang, parang gusto ko pa, mas astig ka pa, kasi si  Bamboo ganu’n eh (For me, I wish you had more attitude, because that’s how Bamboo is),” he said. “Otherwise, Onyok, for a first performance, okay na okay ‘yun (that was really okay).”

Krystal Brimner as Miley Cyrus

Krystal proved herself the one to watch when she dug deep into her emotions to bring “Wrecking Ball” to life, and her performance left both the audience and the judges stunned.

“Vocally ang galing galing mo, pag-interpret mo ang husay husay (Vocally, you are great, your interpretation was brilliant),” Sharon said, while Gary added: “Krystal, that’s what you’re destined for, for big things, here and everywhere around the world.”
