Recap: ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids’ season 2, week 9

MANILA, Philippines – Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids is now on its 9th week and the transformations are gettting even more challenging as the finals draw near.

This week, Sheena Belarmino again won the challenge and got a visit from Soul Supreme singer KZ Tandingan. They even performed “Two Less Lonely People in The World.” (WATCH: Sheena Belarmino as KZ Tandingan on ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids’)

Here’s a look at the performances of the kids from on June 30 and July 1:

JUNE 30

TNT Boys as the Spice Girls

The trio transformed into Scary, Ginger, and Baby Spice and sang “Spice Up Your Life.”

 

Jed Madela told the boys that their performance was the “best to open the show tonight.”

“Nag-set kayo ng mataas na mataas na bar para sundan ng ibang mga contestants.” (You set the bar high for the other contestants to follow.)

Onyok Pineda as Arnel Pineda

Onyok’s challenge this week was to transform into Journey’s frontman, and perform “Faithfully.”

 

Nyoy Volante said he’s always happy when he sees Onyok performing because he really wants the kid to be a “rockstar” after the show.

Krystal Brimner as Sheena Easton

Krystal channeled Sheena Easton, singing “Almost Over You.”

 

Sharon Cuneta commended Krystal and said that she brings something different to every performance. Sharon described Krystal’s performance as “emotional.”

Chunsa Jung as Madonna

This week, Chunsa transformed into one of music’s biggest icons — Madonna. She sang “Holiday.”

 

Before the judge’s comments, Chunsa and the TNT Boys goofed around and posed as “Vogue” played in the background. 

Ogie Alcasid said Chunsa did well, but reminded her to be careful since there were parts where she was out of tune.

JULY 1

Sheena Belarmino as KZ Tandingan

Sheena once again proved that she’s one of this season’s best singers, as she transformed into KZ Tandingan and sang her cover of “Rolling In The Deep.” 

 

Both KZ and the judges were impressed. Ogie told Sheena: “That was sensational. I’m not lying when I say that’s the best performance I’ve ever seen on that stage.”

Marco Masa as Charlie Puth

Marco transformed into one of today’s most popular pop singers and performed “One Call Away.”

 

Jed told Marco he was happy with the performance, especially because Marco seemed to listen to their lessons.

Esang de Torres as Bonnie Tyler

This week, Esang performed “Holding Out For A Hero” as Bonnie Tyler.

Sharon said that Esang continues to bloom as weeks go by. She said that even if Esang had a hard time imitating Bonnie Tyler’s raspy voice, she still did well.

Noel Comia Jr as Justin Timberlake 

Noel closed week 9 as Justin Timberlake and sang “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”

 

Jed said that Noel copied Justin’s expression well and said that while he may have struggled with the vocals, that didn’t stop Noel from performing the song.  

As this week’s winner, Sheena took home a medal, P50,000 in cash, and P50,000 worth of clothes for her chosen charity, Pag-Asa Christian Foundation. – Rappler.com
