An all-female Marvel superhero TV series is in the works

MANILA, Philippines – Who’s going to run the Marvel world? Girls! ABC Studios has just announced production for an upcoming TV series featuring an all-female powerhouse case of Marvel superheroes, according to a report on Variety.

One of the brains behind DC’s Wonder Woman, screenplay writer Allan Heinberg, will be lending his creative powers as one of the show’s executive producers. Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb is also executive producer. How’s that for an unexpected DC-Marvel mash-up?

Marvel TV and ABC Studios are producing the planned series.  

Specific details on the series are still under wraps, with there’s no announcement yet on which female Marvel characters will be part of the series. According to Screen Rant, the show will feature the “lesser-known Marvel characters,” with each episode expected to run an hour long. 

This will be the fourth Marvel project of the ABC network. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was recently renewed for its sixth season. Agent Carter and Inhumans, meanwhile, have since been cancelled.  – Rappler.com
