WATCH: Katarina Rodriguez's transformation in 'The People’s Queen'
HONG KONG – Before she won Miss World Philippines 2018, Katarina Rodriguez flew to the US for a vacation. But that vacation also turned out to be a training session for her journey to the Miss World Philippines crown.
Katarina is one of 5 beauty queen aspirants in the upcoming reality show The People's Queen, chronicling their experience in the world of beauty pageants.
The People's Queen is hosted by Cecilio "Cece" Asuncion, Miss Supranational USA national director and director of Slay Model Management and Rappler contributing writer and pageant coach Voltaire Tayag.
In a press release, Cece said he's proud of Katarina's achievement.
"Katarina is someone who is focused, determined and knows what she wants and is unapologetic for it. We at The People’s Queen are very proud of her and we look forward to seeing her compete and support her candidacy at Miss World in Sanya, China.”
Voltaire, who has seen Katarina's journey since winning Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 said: “Underneath all that chiffon and crystals, lies Katarina’s unwavering determination, discipline and tenacity which won her Miss World Philippines 2018. At The People’s Queen, our philosophy is mentoring by empowering – empowered by one’s dreams, heart and mind. I’m very happy that Katarina took all that we’ve taught her and made empowered decisions. She wins not just a crown but she’ll continue to win in life with this attitude.”
