‘Supernatural’ comes to an end after 15th season
After more than a decade, the monster-hunting Winchester brothers are saying goodbye

MANILA, Philippines – Since 2005, CW series Supernatural has been reeling in fans of both the supernatural dimension and the show’s stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins.

However, after 14 years of monster-hunting action, the Winchester brothers have announced that it’s time to say goodbye, with the show’s upcoming 15th season officially its last.

The emotional Supernatural gang took to Instagram on Friday, March 22, to share the sad news.

The upcoming final season will have 20 episodes. Overall, Supernatural would have produced 327 episodes – making it the longest-running sci-fi series within American broadcast TV to date.

“We would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible,” the show’s executive producers Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer said in a statement.

“We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared, and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send off they deserve.”

The series first premiered on Warner Bros Television in 2005. Its most recent 14th season aired in October 2018.

Supernatural’s main premise revolves around the Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) who continue their father’s family business of hunting down supernatural foes. Misha Collins plays the show’s angel Castiel.

The premiere date of its final season has yet to be announced. – Rappler.com
