‘Doctor Who’ to stream on HBO Max
Eleven seasons of BBC’s 'Doctor Who' series will be available exclusively on HBO Max

MANILA, Philippines  – Heads-up, Doctor Who fans! The TARDIS and Time Lords will be teleporting to HBO Max really soon.

WarnerMedia’s new streaming platform, HBO Max, has gained the exclusive streaming rights to BBC’s iconic Doctor Who sci-fi series, with its 11 seasons launching on the platform in early 2020.

According to a Variety report, this means that HBO Max will also be the future home of all succeeding Doctor Who seasons after they air on BBC America.

“Doctor Who is one of television’s all-time, most beloved series, and we are happy to be the exclusive streaming stewards for this BBC gem,” Kevin Reilly, chief content officer at HBO Max, said in a statement.

HBO Max’s 11 seasons of Doctor Who will begin from the show’s 2005 relaunch – starring Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor, David Tennant as the 10th, Matt Smith as the 11th, and Peter Capaldi as the 12th – until 2018’s 11th season, which stars Jodie Whitaker as the 13th Doctor. She will be reprising her role for an upcoming season in 2020.

Also under HBO Max’s upcoming content line-up is the recently-announced reboot of CW’s Gossip Girl– Rappler.com
