LIST: These Filipino films are coming to Netflix in September 2019

MANILA, Philippines – September may just be the perfect month to Netflix and chill as more Filipino movies make it to the streaming platform.

Die Beautiful — September 1

This award-winning dark comedy by Jun Robles Lana centers on Trisha (Paolo Ballesteros), a transgender woman who dreams of becoming a beauty queen. The heart-wrenching story follows her colorful life, from her troubled childhood as a young boy living under the roof of a homophobic father (Joel Torre) to her wacky adventures as an aspiring pageant queen alongside her loyal best friend, Barbs (Christian Bables).

This Time — September 23

Real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre play childhood friends Coby and Ava, respectively. Although they only meet during the summer, their friendship spans years, eventually blossoming into a complicated romance that they struggle to properly label. Things change when Ava goes off to college and meets someone new, and Coby starts to question their real relationship status.

Camp Sawi (Camp for the Brokenhearted) — September 23

Diary ng Panget (Diary of an Ugly Person) — September 23

JaDine makes a reappearance on this list with the first film that brought this popular tandem together. Nadine Lustre plays Eya, a young girl so desperate to make ends meet that she decides to work as the personal assistant of Cross (James Reid), a popular but self-centered boy at their school.

100 Tula Para Kay Stella (100 Poems for Stella) — September 23

During his freshman year, Fidel (JC Santos) is a shy honor student with a speech impediment, befriends Stella (Bela Padilla), a confident and rebellious student who dreams of musical stardom. Despite their differences, they become best friends all throughout their 4 years of college, and along the way, Fidel secretly writes poems to express his true feelings for Stella.

Luck at First Sight — September 23

Director Dan Villegas weaves a rom-com with fantasy elements in this film. Joma (Jericho Rosales) is a gambler with a pile of debt threatening to take away his family’s home.
