Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Kate Siegel are returning as different characters for the second season of the hit horror series

MANILA, Philippines – The upcoming follow-up to Haunting of Hill House may tell a completely different story, but before you cry for the Crain siblings you won’t get to see again, here’s a bit of exciting news: Some of your favorites are returning in the new season.

The new season will be called The Haunting of Bly Manor, and it will be based on the 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. (WATCH: The secret behind those spooky ‘Haunting of Hill House’ scenes)

It’s an entirely different story from Hill House, which followed the Crain family as they dealt with all kinds of ghosts from their childhood spent in a haunted house. The show launched on Netflix in October 2018 and quickly became a hit, as the Crain siblings – both the adult and kid versions – quickly won over viewers’ hearts. (READ: ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ is psychological family horror done right)

While the characters won’t be returning for Bly Manor, some of the actors will be.

It was earlier announced that Victoria Pedretti, who played the tragic Nell Crain in the first season, will be leading the cast as Dani, a governess caring for two young children.

Also returning is Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who played Nell’s twin, Luke. His character, Peter, has been described as “a charming fellow.”

On Twitter, Director Mike Flanagan made more casting announcements, revealing that Kate Siegel, who played fan favorite and all-around bad-ass Theo Crain, will be part of the Bly Manor cast as well.

He also said that “the inestimable, irreplaceable, invaluable” Henry Thomas will be coming back. Henry played the younger version of the siblings’ father, Hugh Crain.

Rounding out the returning cast is Catherine Parker, who played the flapper ghost Poppy Hill in the first season.

Mike also announced several new faces: Years and Years star T’Nia Miller, iZombie actor Rahul Kohli, Amelia Eve, and newcomers Benjamin Ainsworth and Amelie Smith.

“I’m honored and so excited to work with this incredible ensemble,” Mike said.
