MANILA, Philippines – Comedy Central’s South Park and Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty will both be available on HBO Max in 2020.

WarnerMedia’s streaming platform has acquired the exclusive streaming rights to South Park, which is currently housed on Hulu. South Park Digital Studios’ multi-year licensing deal is valued at $500 million to $550 million, according to a Variety report.

The deal includes all 23 seasons of the adult satirical comedy, to be launched on June 2020. Viewers can also expect 3 new seasons, which will launch on HBO Max a day after the episode first airs on Comedy Central.

Rick and Morty’s 3 seasons are also heading to HBO Max in May 2020, with new seasons first premiering on Adult Swim before HBO Max. Its 4th season is set for a Sunday, November 10 release, two years after season 3’s finale in October 2017.

Rick and Morty exploded onto the scene in 2013 and quickly drew a legion of rabid followers from both critics and young fans,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer for HBO Max.

“The jokes come fast and frenetically in a smart comedy concoction we are so happy to deliver on HBO Max.”

South Park and Rick and Morty are the newest additions to HBO Max’s growing animation line-up, which includes Adventure Time and the Studio Ghibli collection. – Rappler.com
