MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ GMA Network struck a deal with Korean TV Network SBS Korea to co-produce the Philippine franchise of hit South Korean variety show Running Man.

GMA Network announced the news on Facebook on Tuesday, February 11. 

 

Running Man Philippines will follow the same format, which features hosts and celebrity guests engaging in performances and challenges in different settings to win a race. According to GMA Network, aside from Pinoy artists, it will also “incorporate Pinoy culture.”

The local franchise is SBS Korea’s first parternship with a Philippine network. It is slated for a 2021 premiere.

Running Man first aired in South Korea on July 11, 2010. The cast stars Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Haha, Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Jeon So Min, who are all set to perform at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on June 21, 2020. – Rappler.com
