‘Ang Probinsyano,’ other ABS-CBN shows to return via cable, satellite TV
Kapamilya Channel will air on cable starting June 13

MANILA, Philippines – Some of ABS-CBN’s shows such as FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano will return to TV via the Kapamilya Channel starting June 13. The shows will air via cable and satellite television, the network announced.

The Kapamilya Channel will be available on Sky, Cablelink, G Sat, and most member-cable operators of the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) nationwide.

The show, topbilled by Coco Martin, will also air a 10-episode recap of the season before it airs its new episodes.

Also scheduled to air on the Kapamilya Channel are A Soldier’s Heart, starring Gerald Anderson, Elmo Magalona, and Carlo Aquino, and the family drama Love Thy Woman topbilled by Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, and Yam Concepcion.

Artists and hosts of ASAP Natin To and It’s Showtime are also coming back on air.

The morning show Magandang Buhay hosted by Jolina Magdangal, Karla Estrada, and Melai Francisco will also return, as well as The Voice Teens with coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Apl.de.ap.

TV Patrol will also air on the channel along with classic shows and movies.

Two new shows will also air on the Kapamilya Channel — Judy Ann Santos’ Paano Ba Kita Pasasalamatan, and Iba Yan with Angel Locsin. The Koreanovela A World of Married Couple will also air on June 15.

On May 5, the National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order, forcing the network to sign-off after TV Patrol. In the Philippines, broadcast companies must obtain a franchise from Congress under Republic Act 3846. While several bills were filed to renew ABS-CBN’s franchise, the House of Representatives failed to act on them.

The House of Representatives has since started hearing on the network’s franchise after several delays. – Rappler.com
