MANILA, Philippines – The hosts and stars of ASAP Natin 'To returned to work on June 14, nearly 3 months after the long-running Sunday variety show went off-air.
But even as the show goes on, things aren't back to normal just yet. As part of precautions against the spread of the novel coronavirus, physical distancing is a must, even on-stage.
ASAP Natin To is part of line up of the Kapamilya Channel, which premiered on cable and satellite TV on June 13.
ABS-CBN went off air on May 5 after the National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order, forcing the network to sign-off after TV Patrol aired. In the Philippines, broadcast companies must obtain a franchise from Congress. While several bills were filed to renew ABS-CBN's franchise, the House of Representatives failed to act on them. The House, which is on a break, continues to hear proposals to renew ABS-CBN's franchise. – Rappler.com
