Over 40 women vie for the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 crown during the pageant finals, which airs on October 25, Sunday.
The candidates and organizers have been spending the past few weeks in Baguio City, which played host to preliminary events and the finals. It’s the very first edition of the pageant under the Miss Universe Philippines organization. It’s also being held under extraordinary circumstances – the coronavirus pandemic.

Those beautiful opening number dresses were designed by Albert Andrada, who is also Design Council Head for Miss Universe Philippines.

Gazini Ganados: ‘It has been an honor to represent you during the best year of my life’
Outgoing Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados posted a message of thanks ahead of the airing for the finals Sunday, October 23.
The beauty queen wrote:
Mahal kong Pilipinas! It has been an honor to represent you during the best year of my life. Looking back, I feel nothing but gratitude. The past year was built with powerful experiences, learnings and opportunities to help which I will treasure forever.

The show will air on GMA 7 and stream on KTX. It’ll also air via Empire.ph – P299 will get you access to the Ring Light series, which includes footage from previous events in the pageant.
