LOOK: Jollibee Funko Pop wears a barong for Independence Day 2019
Jollibee now sports a Barong Tagalog!

MANILA, Philippines – It’s Independence Day tomorrow, and guess who’s really gotten into the spirit? Our very own national bee, the Philippines’ fried and joy, Jollibee.

As we celebrate June 12, Jollibee joins in on the fun, launching its first limited-edition Jollibee Funko Pop dressed in no other than the traditional Philippine Barong.

Collectors can be the first to avail of the Philippine Barong Funko Pop on the midnight of Independence Day at 6 Jollibee stores:

  • Jollibee E. Rodriguez,
  • Jollibee Dolores Junction
  • Jollibee Molino Boulevard
  • Jollibee Matina Town Square Drive Thru
  • Jollibee Gen. Luna in Iloilo
  • Jollibee BGC Triangle Drive

Each branch will be holding a midnight countdown for Jollibee’s grand unveiling, as well as classic Pinoy games, special dance numbers by Jollibee and Friends, and a special appearance by Jollibee the mascot wearing his own Barong Tagalog.

The special Jollibee Funko Pop will be available from June 12 to 21 at all stores nationwide for only P950, including a dine-in or take-out 6-piece Chicken Joy Bucket Solo purchase.

Jollibee first released the original Funko Pop! model at AsiaPop Comicon in July 2018, where long lines of excited fans got first dibs on Jollibee’s adorable toy version.

Will you be getting this edition, too? – Rappler.com
