JB Saliba excited to share Filipino culture in Mr World 2019
MANILA, Philippines – After a year of preparation, Mr World Philippines 2018 JB Saliba can't wait to meet fellow candidates of the Mr World pageant that willbe held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this month.
JB told Rappler in a chance interview on Tuesday, August 6, that he had only communicated with the other contestants through a chat group.
"Sobrang masayang ma-meet ko silang lahat. We've all been only talking in the group chats. So magkakilala na rin kami doon (I'm so happy and looking forward to meet all of them. We've only been talking in the group chat. So we would all finally meet)," he said.
According to JB, most of the other candidates were interested about the Philippines, particularly what to expect when they visit the country.
"What to expect in the Philippines, what's the weather like, how's the food, everything. Sabi ko medyo maulan tayo ngayon (I said it's a little rainy here now)," he said
JB said that during the 3-week competition, he would try his best to orient his fellow candidates about the Philippines.
"I'll try to share as much Filipino culture but of course, number one is the food. I think we're going to travel also, so I think it's going to help them to experience the Philippines," he said.

At the press presentation on Thursday, August 8, JB, who was with some representatives from the other continents, was asked how he would be a role model for his brothers in the region.
"I will share my [being] Filipino, how hospitable we are. So iyon yung unang-una kong gagawin (so that's what I'll do first)," he said.
