MANILA, Philippines — A new set Mutya Pilipinas queens was crowned on Sunday, August 18 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena .
Now under the management of Cory Quirino, the show started with the 40 ladies dancing onstage wearing red dresses.
Actor and singer Matteo Guidicelli hosted this year's pageant.
After the first round of special awards, it was narrowed down to the Top 20, who then showed their figures in swimsuits.
Next, was the evening gown competition. After another round of special awards, the Top 12 were chosen. They were asked how they would promote their respective hometowns both locally and internationally.
After the Top 12, it was down to the Top 6, where they had to answer a final question from a bowl.
As the judges deliberated, Viva talent Katrina Velarde serenaded the audience. Before the new set of winners were announced, the 2018 queens led by Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Akeel, made their farewell walks.

The queens of 2018
Davao City's Klyza Castro was crowned the new Mutya Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2019. She will have a huge assignment ahead of her as she goes for a back-to-back crown in the competition happening in Manila soon.
April Short, who was a finalist in Binibining Pilipinas 2019, was crowned the first World Top Model Philippines representative. The competition will be held in Monaco this December.
Tyra Goldman of Nevada will compete in the Miss Tourism International pageant.
Louise Janica Arroyo An of California was given the title of Mutya Pilipinas Overseas Communities.
Pampanga's Cyrille Payumo and Maxinne Nicole Rangel of Padre Garcia, Batangas were the 1st and 2nd runners-up.
