MANILA, Philippines – Halloween might just be the funnest unofficial holiday on the calendar – that one night every year where people can transform into someone else, where treats are traditionally given to anyone who ask, and where all sorts of tricks are in store for those who enjoy a good spook.

Whether you actually want to freak yourself out, or just party the night away (which, depending on how drunk you get, could be a scary prospect as well), take your pick from these Halloween events:

Mystery Manila: Intramuros Investigation

Where better to spend Halloween than in what is likely one of the most haunted places in Manila, Intramuros? And what better way to spend it than by solving a spooky mystery – on a bike, like most horror film characters do? Bambike and Mystery Manila’s Intramuros Investigation II lets you do just that, with two mysteries to solve: Lost Lady, where players unlock the mystery of an apparition of a young lady roaming in Fort Santiago; and Possessed Priest, where players try to figure out why the spirit of an exorcist priest has not yet found rest.

Each mystery is P799, and both mysteries are P1499. The event will run on October 19, 20, 25, 26, 30, and 31, every hour from 6 pm to 9 pm. Starting point is at the Plaza San Luis Complex, beside the Bambike HQ. To book a slot, check out Mystery Manila’s website.

Screammm: A 90s Halloween Party

Th 90s was a great time for horror movies and thrillers (Scream, The Blair Witch Project, The Silence of the Lambs, I Know What You Did Last Summer), and Wework’s Halloween party pays homage to that. If you’d like to dress like your favorite 90s horror film character, or just dance it out to the tunes of the decade, this is where you should head. The party will be held at Yes Please in BGC on October 30, from 8 pm to 10 pm. RSVP at the event’s webpage.

Zombie Street at Poblacion

Another party will be raging on Poblacion’s streets with Zombie Street at Poblacion, a Halloween party on October 31 that starts at Z Hostel and spills out on to Z’s neighboring establishments. The party will include dancing, drinks, DJs, and, if previous Poblacion street parties are anything to go by, large crowds that are sure to give introverts a good scare. There will also be a Halloween Costume Contest, so partygoers are encouraged to come in their best zombie looks. The party starts at 6 pm.

Trese Intramuros

Fans of Budjette Tan’s folklore-horror series Trese won’t be able to resist – a Trese Intramuros One Night Tour/Halloween Party is happening on October 31! For P500, guests are entitled to a ghost hunting tour of Intramuros, admission to Fort Santiago, plus food and drinks afterwards at Puesto Manila. You can even come in a Trese costume! The tour starts at 5pm.

Bahay Trese Season 5

Do you dare enter Bahay Trese? The popular haunted house’s Season 5, Ouija, And Mensahe ng Kaluluwa, is ready to accept guests for jump-scares and more. The horror walk-through has been running since October 3, and will be taking visitors until December 29, 2019 at the Santa Lucia Mall, Marcos Highway, Cainta. A single ticket costs P200, and a group bundle (4 tickets + 1 free) costs P800.

Haunted Manila Festival 2019

Everything you need this Halloween can be found in one event – Haunted Manila Festival 2019. Enjoy the exhilirating zombie run Outbreak Manila, a huge Breakout Manila puzzle, a Pinoy horror movie marathon, plus food, a scavenger hunt, DJ sets, and live OPM!
