MANILA, Philippines – The Miss Eco International organization announced on Saturday, May 30 that Malaysia’s Amy Tinie Abdul Aziz, who was 4th runner-up in the 2019 edition of the pageant, has been appointed its winner after Suheyn Cipriani became pregnant. 

Miss Eco International, like other pageants, stipulates that its title-holder should not get pregnant during her reign.  

On its social media accounts, the organization did not explain why neither the 2nd runner-up nor 3rd runner-up took over. Maureen Montagne of the Philippines, who was 1st runner-up, earlier declined to take over as she is now competing in the 2020 Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

Ms. Cipriani had agreed to the rules from the moment she filled her application form. The hectic schedule of the Miss Eco winner is unsuitable for pregnant women. Since it may negatively affect the upbringing of a newly born child deprived of his monther’s love.
