After a video of a motorist assaulting an MMDA officer went viral, netizens went to the 'rescue'

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino netizens on Tuesday, August 14, were up in arms over a video-gone-viral showing a motorist berating and later assaulting a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) officer.

The officer was later identified as Saturnino Fabros.

MMDA’s Traffic Discipline Office head Yves Gonzalez took to Twitter to explain what happened:

 

TV5 reports that the video was taken at Capitol Hills Drive corner Tandang Sora in Quezon City. The MMDA will also be helping Fabros file charges against the motorist, who they identified as Robert Blair Carabuena.
