MANILA, Philippines – A new survey released by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) paints an interesting picture on love in the Philippines.

According to the survey, 78% of adult Filipinos felt the phrase, “Love cannot be planned and pursued, it just comes to a person” was closer to their view of love. The alternative phrase given to respondents was “Love is planned and pursued until a person finds it.”

The research also shows 84% of the women and 72% of the men believed love comes to a person.

The survey also looked at the love happiness levels of Filipinos. The survey showed 54% were very happy with their love life, 33% wished it could be happier, and 13% did not have a love life.

This survey was conducted from December 8-11, 2012 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults in Metro Manila, following a weighted balance of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
