What to expect in the next iPad.

MANILA, Philippines – With less than 24 hours to go before Apple’s iPad event more and more details are emerging about the successor to the popular tablet computer.

First of these reports has to do with what the new device will be called. Venture Beat, quoting “extremely reliable sources” is reporting that the iPad 3 will be called the iPad HD. This is consistent with another report by tech blog Gizmodo which reported that last week that accessory manufacturers Griffin and Belkin were allegedly using the name iPad HD in accessory listings.

Other rumors confirm our earlier hunch that the new iPad will have a Retina Display similar to the high res display on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The Verge is reporting that the new iPad will have a 2048 x 1536 Retina Display.

The iPad HD is expected to have either an A5X dual core chip or an A6 quad core chip and LTE support and will come in 16GB and 32GB models meaning Apple might drop the 64GB option.
