Smoothie Saturdays: Cucumber mint yogurt
This smoothie is as hydrating as it is packed with vitamins. Try making one for yourself!

Let’s admit it: with most hours spent on the daily grind going to and from work – plus overtime, plus extracurricular activities –  we really have no time to prepare a proper meal, leaving us to opt for fast food alternatives.

Thankfully, smoothies are a thing so we don’t always have to resign ourselves to unhealthy options. They’re quick and easy to make, consumable on-the-go, filling, and refreshing – which, in a country that’s hot and humid most days of the year, is very important.

What’s a great smoothie that’s as hydrating as it is nutritious? The cucumber (which is 95% water!) mint yogurt smoothie.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 piece frozen cucumber (with skin)

  • ½ cup yogurt

  • ¼ cup water (for consistency)

  • 3 large mint leaves

  • 2 teaspoons honey

  • 1 cup ice

PROCEDURE

  1. Blend all the cucumber first.

  2. Add ½ cup of yogurt.

  3. Then add ¼ cup of water and blend.

  4. Add two teaspoons honey (or sweetener of choice).

  5. Add in mint leaves.

  6. Add the ice and blend together until the flow is consistent.

  7. Serve in a tall glass, or tumbler.
