MANILA, Philippines – The Forbes Travel Guide listed Peninsula Manila’s The Bar as one of this year’s 44 best hotel bars in the world.
The list, which was published on Tuesday, October 15, praised The Bar’s old Cuban-inspired interiors, as well as its checkered flooring and wood walls. Their pica-pica (finger food), such as the pork sisig croquetas (fried balls of crispy pork and a béchamel sauce) and the Sriracha butter duck wings, were also mentioned.
Forbes also gave The Bar’s Batangas Old Fashioned a shout-out.
Peninsula Manila’s The Bar, which is also the hotel’s only designated smoking area, is the only Philippine bar on the 2019 list.
The Forbes Travel Guide is curated by undercover “travel correspondents that canvas the globe for the latest on luxury hotels, restaurants, spas and destinations,” according to their website.
