MANILA, Philippines – Thailand’s Bint Sireethorn Leearamwat was crowned the new Miss International 2019 at Tokyo Dome in Japan, on Tuesday, November 12.
Bint, 25, suceeded Mariem Velazco of Venezuela. She beat 82 candidates for the title, including Patch Magtanong of the Philippines, who finished as part of the Top 8.
Here’s what we know about the new Miss International:
1. She is a pharmacist.
2. Bint is Thailand’s first Miss International winner.
3. Winning speech. During the Miss Interntional pageant, Bint said she was criticized when she won the Miss International Thailand title. Despite the criticism, she never gave up.
“I dared to dream to become a beauty queen, even if there’s nothing really related to my career as [a] pharmacist. I used critic as power to make myself improve to be the best representative and make my nation proud,” she said.
“So the definiton of ‘cheer all women’ for me is how to encourage, support, and inspire all women, all around the world to make their dreams come true and make a great thing to our world.”
She said that if an ordinary girl like her can do it, everyone can too.
