MANILA, Philippines – Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2019 Resham Ramirez Saeed says she’s been used to questions about being Muslim and being a woman long before she joined the pageant scene.
“My parents have always been brought me up to be empowered, outspoken, and really live up to who I am… and it wasn’t until my teenage years life when I realized that the struggle of women is a universal one,” she said. (WATCH WATCH: Philippine bet Resham Saeed’s Miss Supranational intro video)
This led her to work with Sparks! Philippines, a group that works towards the development of women. She’s also a spokesperson for the Respeto Naman, a campaign against gender-based violence.
The Filipino-Pakistani beauty queen says she wants to be an inspiration to children – girls, especially — and show them that they dream no matter their cultures and beliefs.
Resham competes at the Miss Supranational 2019 pageant happening in Poland on December 6 (early December 7, Manila time). – Rappler.com
