MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Cathedral announced on Thursday, January 16 that they are opening their doors to weddings originally set to take place in Batangas and Cavite – areas affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

“Due to a number of calls and inquiries we are receiving regarding transfer of weddings affected by the Taal Volcano eruption in Batangas and Cavite areas to the Manila Cathedral, we are now opening slots and extending assistance for weddings scheduled this January and February 2020. A personal visit to the Cathedral office will be helpful for us to assist you with the process,” the Cathedral, a popular wedding venue, posted on Twitter.

The Taal volcano erupted on Sunday, January 12. Thousands have since evacuated from parts of Batangas and Cavite, two of the affected provinces.
