MANILA, Philippines – On March 4 at 7pm, Car Awards Group Inc (CAGI) held their annual Car of the Year (COTY) awards at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) in Pasay City. It was hosted by David Celdran.

COTY 2013 took place on the eve of the first day of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) at the World Trade Center. MIAS runs until April 7, Sunday.

This is COTY’s 9th year.

A total of 81 cars and trucks were tested by members of CAGI headed by Ferman Lao. According to the CAGI website, the vehicles underwent 9 days of qualitative tests at Eton Centris, Quezon City and 4 days of technical tests at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga. 

The 2012 Car of the Year was the Hyundai Elantra.
