Facebook takes on Twitter's video service Vine with Video on Instagram

MANILA, Philippines – Facebook is looking to take on Twitter’s short-video sharing service Vine with its latest release – Video on Instagram.

Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom announced the new service Thursday, June 20, 2013 (June 21, 2013 in the Philippines) in a much-hyped event that had the tech world buzzing.

Unlike Vine which only lets users upload a 6-second video, Video on Instagram will let users upload up to 15-seconds of video.

Just like images, you can also apply filters on your videos. Video on Instagram also has an edit feature that lets users edit frames and remove certain parts of their video.

It will also come with a “Cinema” feature that will digitally stabilize the video.

The new feature is coming to both iOS and Android users.
