CANDY-COLORED COCKTAILS. Which sweet concoction are you having? Image by Jessica Lazaro/Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – We’ve given you the basics of mixing your own drinks. This time, we took it a step further and asked some of the country’s best bartenders at the launch of the Diageo Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year for their signature cocktails. Now you can really play around with your newfound mixologist skills! Check these out:

Candy Crash

Don’t let the candy sprinkles fool you. It may look harmless but this creation by World Class 2013 Bartender of the Year Allan King Roxas is a sweet concoction that definitely packs a punch. The Candy Crash is a Ketel One vodka-based drink mixed with raspberry liquor, amaretto, and half and half (half condensed milk and half all purpose cream.) It’s perfect for those with a sweet tooth. A dessert and drink in one, anyone?

Julio’s Ex-girlfriend

Here’s an interesting drink with an equally interesting backstory. The bartender behind this drink dedicated it to his ex-girlfriend of eight years who loved margaritas and strawberries. Christian Earl Asiddao of Raffles’ Long Bar combined the ingredients – tequila, triple sec, strawberries, and sugar syrup – to come up with this drink. It’s light and refreshing, perfect for a girls’ night out while you gossip about exes and lovers long gone.

Crimson Seduction

Your mom probably told you it’s a bad idea to mix your liquor, but for the Crimson Seduction, we’ll make an exception. Hannah Waters, World Class Brand Ambassador for Southeast Asia, is a huge fan of tequila and tequila-based drinks. Taking things to the next level, she throws in lemon juice, agave syrup with Don Julio Reposado, and finishes it off with a splash of red wine for a cocktail that’s great for those who enjoy their grape juice and aren’t afraid to experiment.
