MANILA, Philippines – How would you react if your favorite celebrity sat at the table right next to yours?
Most people would sit quietly and gawk at the wonderful existence that is insert-celeb’s-name-here. They’d text their friends about how the most perfect human being was so down-to-earth that they didn’t mind eating at a lowly restaurant with the mere mortals.
Then heaven’s most beautiful angel turns to you and you expect, as any sane person would, that they are about to introduce themselves, ask to be your friend, and – who knows? – profess their undying love. But when you get a good look at their faces you realize they are just some look-alike asking you to pass the ketchup!
Although it may seem far-fetched, it could happen. As quickly as celebrities rise to fame, so do people who happen to have very similar features. And given the borderless platform that is the Internet, these look-alikes are getting a following of their own.
Look-alike #1: Maria Francesca Santos and Daniel Padilla
If the extremely popular Daniel Padilla had been born female, he would look exactly like Cesca. Her uncanny resemblance to the young actor has gotten such a following that an official fan page has been created to celebrate her looks. With 141,684 likes (as of this writing) to the page’s name, it’s no doubt that DJ’s fans truly support everything that has to do with their idol.
For the straight men out there, you too can now get into the Daniel Padilla craze.
Look-alike #2: Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes
People say that a child looks either like their father or mother. In the case of little Suri Cruise, she looks like a mini photocopy of her celebrity mother Katie Holmes. It was apparent from the first few photographs of the child that she was fortunate enough to inherit her parent’s movie-star good looks but, as the years passed, she grew more and more into a replica of her mother.
Let’s wait a few years and see if she truly does become the next Katie Holmes.
Look-alike #3: Liam Dryden and David Tennant
Fans of the hit BBC series Doctor Who will find this next face very familiar because it looks a lot like 10th Doctor David Tennant’s. The young Scottish man gained his following through his vlogs on Youtube where viewers commented on his startling resemblance to the famous Scottish actor.
He has since embraced this reality and in one quirky video he jokingly accuses Tennant of copying him – a video which Tennant has viewed and “thoroughly enjoyed,” according to the video’s caption.
Look-alike #4: Zooey Deschanel, Katy Perry, Emily Blunt and 3 other women
It’s always a bit awkward when someone wears the exact same dress as you, but can you imagine how awkward it must be for these 6 unrelated celebrities who seem to share the same genes? Zooey Deschanel, Katy Perry, Emily Blunt, Katie Featherston, Mia Kirshner, and Siwan Morris all have the same doe-eyed and small-jawed face.
They may not even be the only ones out there with that face!
Look-alike #5: Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus
Due to recent events in young pop star Justin Bieber’s life, it has been uncovered that he has done drugs, driven under the influence, and has an unpleasant resemblance to another young pop star who is also gaining some negative attention, Miley Cyrus. After Bieber’s mugshot was released, a photo quickly spread on Twitter showing just how similar these two celebrities look.
Look-alike #6: Tyler Mitchell and Benedict Cumberbatch
Have you ever looked at an actor and thought, “if only he were a bit younger…”? Well, some fans have obviously been wishing hard because a Biritsh teen has come into the limelight for looking ridiculously similar to Sherlock star: Benedict Cumberbatch. Woulnd’t it be lovely to share a mind palace with him?
