MANILA, Philippines – It may not be hard news, but covering an entire week of Fashion can be equally-exhausting nonetheless.

Yesterday, Runway Productions’ Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012 closed on a high note, making way only for excitement for the next season (Summer 2013) in October. RAPPLER Life & Style editor Kai Magsanoc, who has been covering the event since it found its new home in SMX 4 years ago, notes that improvements on the event’s systems have definitely made this last Fashion Week the best in terms of coordination and security.

Save for a few mishaps (on the 2nd show of day 5, an intern asked Kai to go to Meeting Room 11 to get a media pass AFTER Kai presented the media pass she was already issued; on the last show, a gentleman made a scene with a raised voice, asking Kai and social media head Michael Josh Villanueva to move to the 2nd row because “the front row is for press only.” Only when he was told by a lady from Buensalido PR that Kai and Josh ARE press did his demeanor change. We have to mention that he was literally touching Josh and pushing him out of his seat before that.), over-all, props and applause must be given to producers Joey and Audie Espino, Tina Herrera and members of their team Des Morales and Rosh Santos (among others) for a job excellently done.

Day 6 had 4 shows:

First was Design Fusion (Bo Parcon, Enrico Carado, Jaki Penalosa), Visions & Trends (Happy Andrada, Jan Garcia, Oz Go, Regine Dulay, Russell Villafuerte) and Ready to Wear (Dave Ocampo, Emi Alexander Englis, Harley Ruedas, Jian Lasala, John Guarnes, Mike Lavarez, Nixon Marquez).

Second was Unica Hija at the mall atrium. This was promtply followed by the third show, Rajo Laurel & Michael Cinco for Bench at SMX.

The fourth and last show of the season was by L’Oreal Paris presenting Jerome Salaya Ang. Joey Espino, in his closing speech right before the start of Ang’s show, said that Ang got chosen because he “is the type of designer who goes to Divisoria personally to buy materials and remains to be a simple person” despite his success.
