Kris is not the only Filipina from Cebu to compete this year. Last November 29, Jamie Herrell won the title of Miss Earth 2014 at the coronation night held at the UP Theater.
In an interview with Rappler during her send off last November, Kris said that her pageant experience is dedicated to her father, who died before he could see her compete in a pageant.
“If my dad were here I still think it would be the same. I am doing this in memory of my dad, whether he is here or not for him and my family. I guess if my dad would be here, I would have more words of wisdom from him but I am very very grateful that my dad is my dad because he left me a lot of tips and advice on life,” she said. –Rappler.com
