MANILA, Philippines – The cast of Les Miserables in Manila ended their Philippine run Sunday, May 1 at the Solaire Theatre. Cast members, including the Philippines’ own Rachelle Ann Go, took to social media to celebrate a successful run, which had been extended from its original scope, and remembered their time in the Philippines.
After the cast took their final bow, Rachelle posted this photo on Instagram:
Just before the final show, Rachelle posted a series of black and white photos with her castmastes, including one with Jean Valjean actor Simon Gleeson.
“This is actually extra special because it’s my home town, my family’s around, my friends, my fellow Filipinos are watching this show. The intensity, the fire I share with everyone is different. It’s more, I guess,” she told Paul Wilkins, her co-star, in a YouTube interview. “It feels good. I feel like I enjoy what I’m doing more, I’m trying to embrace everything even more.”
Simon posted a collage of pictures celebrating his good times in Manila.
“I’d like to say an immense thank you. A lot of things I’m going to miss about Manila…I’ll always think very fondly of this country and these people,” he said in his video interview with Paul.
Towards the end of the Manila run, actor Chris Durling posted that he was celebrating his 600th performance as Enjolras.
“Thanks for having us Manila, I’ve loved every minute. You are literally the kindest people I’ve met all around the world. So thank you, and I look forward to coming back one day,” said Chris in the video above.
Paul Wilkins, who plays Marius, marked his final Manila show with a happy selfie.
