Find out what these ladies think of Vice Ganda's line of lip products

MANILA, Philippines – Vice Ganda’s lipstick collection is out, and we tried all the shades in his Phenomenal Liquid Lip Kits.

The lip kits in Vice Cosmetics (P295) are available in 8 different shades. The kit includes a liquid lipstick and matching lip liner. The Vice Cosmetics website describes them as “a vibrant pop of color on your lips that’s light and lasts all day,” adding that they’re smudge-proof and come in a matte finish.

Rapplers tried out the liquid lippie and matching liner on a Friday night, putting each to the test –whether it was dinner, dancing, or a night working hard at their desks. See what they thought of Vice’s first foray in makeup.

On Bee: Whoops Kiri

“I think it lasts long, but then the formula is a bit drying. It has the same feel as a Kylie Lip Kit and it’s actually a lot less expensive than that. You just have to moisturize your lips before putting it on.”

On Josie: Girly

“I like the color, it looks good on me, but the lip liner was very disappointing [because it broke]. The price is competitive because it’s inexpensive.”

On Krista: Unicorn

“Lip liner was a fail because it was broken straight out of the box. Unicorn was a flattering shade for my medium to dark skin tone, it’s a great Friday choice because it can transition from payday to partay. The color payoff was good, 6 to 8 dots already ensured a full-colored lip. I loved that it really stayed on for hours, but you really need to exfoliate/prep your lips to ensure a smooth application. I never really got onto the matte liquid lipstick trend because they’re too drying for me, but I’d consider buying this because it’s more affordable, and since it’s available locally, I can swatch to find the right shade.”

On Patty: Pony

“I think Vice Cosmetics has the perfect shades for Filipina skin tones. It’s drying but I like that its formula is lighter than ColourPop. It can last a day so there’s no trouble with re-applying. The lip liner is disappointing though, because it breaks when you use it. It was supposed to be the selling factor of the brand since lip kits usually go for a higher price. They could have sold the liquid lipsticks without the liners at a cheaper price.”

On Dani: Showtime

“The color that I picked really compliments my skin tone. It’s very affordable, but the formula tends to dry up the lips.”

On Raisa: Star

“What I hate about it: the lipstick feels so heavy and it quickly dries the lips. A tip for users would be not to skip on the lip balm before swiping it on. What I love about it: it stays for hours, even after eating and drinking.”

On Abi: Phenom

“The matte liquid lipstick is quite hard to remove! Even it’s already late at night and I already ate oily food and drank a lot of water, it’s still there. Also it dries easily, so it gives you chapped lips. The packaging is so nice and it’s good to know that they have different shades. I’d recommend this for those who have a lot of things to do but really need a long-lasting lippie.”

On Aika: Benjamin

“As everyone mentioned, Vice’s lipsticks are very drying, so it’s not the best for those with dry lips. It didnt work for me since my lips easily chap. I also had a hard time removing it – I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be waterproof, but it came off only after using an oil-based remover.”

You can get your own Vice Cosmetics lip kits on their website. Vice is set to launch his collection on October 22, with a concert titled “Ganda for All.” – Rappler.com
