Nadine Lustre x BYS: Is ‘Lustrous’ worth the buy?
Local beauty bloggers test-drive the line. Is it a go or pass for the latest celebrity makeup collection?

MANILA, Philippines – Nadine Lustre’s makeup collaboration with BYS, “Lustrous,” publicly launches on Sunday, April 15, but a few content creators and bloggers have already gotten their hands on the products. (READ: Nadine Lustre is coming out with a makeup line!)

Should you get some of the collection for yourself too? If you’re thinking about it, most of the reviews online say to go for the contour palette, which has two bronzing shades and 3 highlighting shades.

The eyeshadow palettes, which feature shimmer shades, could be great complements to your existing matte eyeshadow collection. On the other hand, the brow products, mascara, and lip and cheek tints are pretty hit or miss – get these at your own discretion.

Below, we’ve rounded up 5 reviews on YouTube, so you can see how Lustrous works (or don’t work) on different people.

Beauty content creator Raiza Contawi wasn’t too happy with the brow products’ colors, the all-shimmer palettes, and the lip and cheek tint, but did praise the line’s contour palette, which she said is “something that you can use on a daily basis.”

Like Raiza, Jessica Godinez wasn’t impressed with the brow gel (which didn’t work as well as her own BYS brow gel) and with the all-glitter eyeshadow palettes. She fixed both of those problems with her BYS Brow Definition kit, though, and said she recommended the eyeliner in Turquoise and the lip and cheek stain in Vermillion.

Host and radio DJ Karla Aguas remedied the all-shimmer eyeshadow palette problem by using a bit of bronzer from the contour palette (which she loved) on her eyes, creating a soft, wearable look.

Beauty blogger Michelle Dy did the same trick with the contour palette and did a bolder look with both eyeshadow palettes. She said that while the shadows were a bit powdery, they were very pigmented.

Issa Pressman also gave Nadine’s collection a go, saying she liked the contour palette and the brow gel.
