Bakery chain Le Coeur de France to close doors
Established in 1994, the bakery chain closes for good on February 19, Friday

MANILA, Philippines – Many Filipinos have frequented Le Coeur de France for their croissants, baguettes, and tarts. The bakery chain has always been a go-to shop for warm, crisp bread, and has been part of many a Filipino’s childhood.

On February 19, Friday, they are finally “closing their doors for the last time,” it said in a Facebook post.

Le Coeur de France has been serving baked goods to the public since 1994. It has been part of the Max’s Group of Restaurants’ roster of brands since 2013.

The Max’s Group handles international and original brands which include the flagship Max’s Restaurant, Max’s Corner Bakery, Krispy Kreme, Jamba Juice, Pancake House, Yellow Cab, Dencio’s, Teriyaki Boy, Sizzling Pepper Steak, Kabisera, and Maple.

The Le Coeur chain has been closing branches since last year, whittling down their 14 stores to 4.

“The closure is part of on-going rationalization program to improve store network quality,” said investor relations head Paul Cheah in a text message.

This is part of continuing developments in the Max’s Group as the company is currently undergoing some changes to streamline its portfolio.
