MANILA, Philippines – Get ready for a cheese and carb overload! There’s a place in Manila serving up raclette, a Swiss dish where cheese is scrapped straight off the block and onto a plate of potatoes.

Raclette Manila opened in POP by Retail Lab at Powerplant Mall in Rockwell on Saturday, October 1, and the stall is a a must-try for any cheese lover.

Here’s what we saw and ate when we visited Raclette Manila on their opening day!

The stall is named after its one dish, raclette, where a block of raclette cheese is partially melted before it’s scraped off to top potatoes, bread, and cornichons.

Raclette Manila has two versions: raclette ala patate (small – P185, large – P325) and raclette charcuterie (small – P225, large – P395), which comes with prosciutto and arugula.


 

Rissa Silva, co-owner of Raclette Manila, said she and her partner were inspired by Raclette NYC, after trying out the New York restaurant by Manila-born Edgar Villongco.

Raclette Manila is hoping to expand to weekend markets and catering for events too, but for now, their pop-up stall is only open until October 31.
