MANILA, Philippines – Denny’s is in Manila!

That’s right, the famous all-day breakfast fast-food joint is opening its first branch in Manila on Friday, October 7 at Uptown Parade, BGC.

Denny’s opened in 1953 as a doughnut stand called Danny’s Donuts in California. Today, they have over 1,700 stores worldwide serving up pancakes, bacon, burgers, and more.

Like the American original, the Denny’s here will be open 24/7, so you can get your breakfast food fix at anytime during the day.

According to Denny’s Philippines Operations Director Jam Olaes, Denny’s dishes here follow the same recipes and serving sizes as those abroad too.

The Bistro Group, which brought Denny’s to the Philippines, also plans on opening 10 other branches around the country in the next 10 years, with the second opening up in Santa Rosa, Laguna in November.

Pancake Puppies (P195)

Before your big Denny’s breakfast, have a quick appetizer of these Pancake Puppies– six fried pancake balls tossed in cinnamon sugar, served with maple syrup. If you plan on having more than just appetizers at Denny’s it would be best to have these to share – each crunchy pancake ball is soft and fluffy, but dense enough to fill you up.

The Original Grandslam (P375)

One of the first things on their menu, the Original Grand Slam includes two buttermilk pancakes, two bacon strips, two sausages and two eggs.

As with most of their dishes that come with eggs, you have a choice of having yours done over-easy, poached, sunny-side-up, or soft-boiled.

The Grand Slamwich (P395)

For those of you wanting a dish that will fill you up, this sandwhich has two scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage, bacon, shaved ham, and American cheese, all sandwiched between two slices of potato bread. Plus fries on the side, of course.

Choco Overload Peanut Butter Pancake Plate (P395)

Sweet chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes – with normal and white chocolate chips – topped with hot fudge and peanutbutter sauce. You also get two eggs, bacon, and hasbrowns with your pancakes.

Crispy bangus belly (P325)

If you’re not up for potatoes, Denny’s Philippines serves Filipino comfort food too! Aside form the bangus belly, served with egg, garlic rice, and vinegar dip, Denny’s also has arroz caldo (P195), chicken and pork adobo (P295), ribeye bistek Tagalog (345), Lucban longganisa (295), ribeye beef tapa (325), and pork tocino (P275).

Ham and cheese omelette (375)

A classic! Aside from the ham and cheese omelette, you’ll also get toast and hash browns with this dish.

Chicken cranberry apple salad (P395)

If you’re looking for a healthy, Denny’s has a few options too. Their chicken cranberry apple salad has grilled seasoned chicken breast, glazed pecans, apple slices, and dried cranberries, all tossed in a honey balsamic vinaigrette.

Bourbon BBQ bacon cheese burger (P525)

You can get burgers at Denny’s too! This one is huge – a hand-pressed beef patty with cheddar cheese, bacon, mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomato, and red onions, all between two cheddar buns. It’s served on a wooden block with fries on the side.

Spicy Sriracha burger (P495)

A spicy twist to a regular burger, Denny’s Sriracha burger is made with the famous sauce it’s named after and jalapeños. This burger also comes with cheddar, bacon, tomato, and onions, plus a side of fries.

French Toast Slam (P375)

A simple serving of French toast, but still delicious and filling. This comes with two slices of thick, fluffy french toast, along with two eggs, bacon, and sausages.

All of Denny’s dishes are perfect for sharing between two people if you don’t have much of an appetite, but this one would be perfect for one person too.

Cream cheese cinammon pancake plate (P395)

Two buttermilk pancakes with cream cheese icing and cinammon sauch over top and in between. On the side, you get two eggs, two strips of bacon, and hashbrowns.

Ultimate Omelette (P395)

Just what the label says – a omelette with everything: crumbled sausage, bacon, roasted bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. As with everything, this is served with hashbrowns and toast.

Cucumber Orange Celery (P135) and Apple Ginger (P135)

Two fresh, icy drinks to wash everything down! The cucumber orange celery drink doesn’t taste too much like orange, and the apple ginger drink tastes more of apple than ginger. But both still perfectly complement the heavy dishes you’ll eat at Denny’s.

Chocolate lava cake (P295)

For dessert – if you’ve still got room – try a dense choco-lava cake topped with ice cream.

Banoffee pie (P275)

A delicious, sweet end to a meal, Denny’s banoffee pie has dulce de leche buried under its banana slices and whipped cream.
